After the extensively celebrated Christmas days, the turn of the year is approaching and we make good New Year’s resolutions every time, we want to do without vice and start the new year healthy and fit. Everyone has their own vices that they would like to abandon.
At the top of the list are smoking, alcohol and fitness. While all of these resolutions are commendable, they should not all be tackled at once. Some of them can be wonderfully combined with each other, but doing without everything quickly demotivates and should be done step by step. Those who quit smoking could, for example, start exercising. Those who do without alcohol can eat more healthily. So the body is doing better step by step and the motivation is better preserved.
Smoke the last cigarette
Quitting smoking in the New Year is a great goal and a good time too, because a new chapter in life begins with each new year. The New Year celebration is a great opportunity to do this. Shortly before midnight, the last cigarette is smoked and the rest of the pack is disposed of. This way, the environment is immediately informed and future support from friends and relatives is assured for the new non-smoker. The good intentions at the fireworks at the turn of the year are rewarded and appreciated.
Apple juice instead of alcohol
Drinking alcohol is just as bad for your health as smoking. In order to reduce the consumption of alcoholic beverages in the New Year or, best of all, avoid it altogether and thus do something good for the body, the New Year can be started with a refreshing glass of splashed apple juice or non-alcoholic sparkling wine.
Fitness and more exercise
Of course, there are more good New Year’s resolutions, like fitness and more exercise. Keeping your body fit and moving around a lot is a resolution that is often taken for the New Year. The problem with sport and exercise is usually not the activity itself, but getting yourself to do it. Many excuses, such as bad weather, a lot of work, or a headache, are just as popular as postponing them to another day. A set fitness plan, a sports partner or an appointment with the personal trainer is very helpful in achieving the goal and staying strong together. It is important to have fun while moving, because when you look forward to something, you prefer to do it. The feeling of elation after sport, which flows through the body, is a great reward and also makes you proud of your own performance.
A healthy diet
In addition to exercise, a healthy diet is important for the body and mind. Especially when it comes to losing weight or building muscle, fitness and nutrition support each other. When changing your diet, the body first has to get used to the new food. In addition, many things are missing from the daily routine, such as coffee during the lunch break, which has been replaced by water or healthy smoothies. It is important not to fall into old habits. In an emergency, for example, the location of the lunch break could be changed to create new routines. After the first difficult phase, the body quickly gets used to the new diet, which is best designed to be varied, then it is no longer difficult.
